Short-term International Students

Our ballet school welcomes short-term international students. You can immerse yourself in learn ballet and focus on ballet deeply while experiencing Japanese culture.
Classes are divided by age and level, making it ideal for those returning home temporarily during summer vacations.

Important Notes:
  • Mobile phone use is not permitted in the school.
  • Please refrain from eating inside the studio, except in special cases.
  • For ballet classes, wear only pink tights and leotards.
    Please remove watches, necklaces, large earrings, and long nails for safety.
  • If you have cold symptoms please consider to be absent from class.
    Also if you attend class with those symptoms please wear a mask.

Ayuko Kaneta

Ayuko Kaneta

Profile

Ayuko Kaneta studied under Kazuhiro Kaneta and Kyoko Kono.
She has received numerous awards, including the Grand Prize and First Place at various domestic and international ballet competitions, as well as the Special Jury Award.

She played a leading role in the opening ceremony of the Nagano Paralympics. In 1998, she studied at the Hamburg Ballet School, and the following year, she joined the Hong Kong Ballet. After returning to Japan, she has been active as a dancer and choreographer.

  • She has played leading roles in works by numerous choreographers including Young Soon, Sung Yong Kim, Haruka Ueda, Kagaya Kaori, and Kazuhiro Kaneta

Choreography

Her choreographic works have won awards at various competitions, including the Japan Grand Prix, NBA Competition, and Youth America Grand Prix.
In 2009, her choreography “SHADOW” won the Grand Prize at the Youth America Grand Prix.
In 2016, her choreography “cosmos” placed third.

She has choreographed for commercials, including Sunstar’s “Ora2”and UCC’s “Black Unsweetened.”

She performed in Cirque du Soleil’s “ZED” and is a registered dancer with the dance magazine “DDD.” She has been invited to perform in shows organized by the NPO Arts and Culture Creative Development Center and has worked as a choreographer for international film festivals, commercials, and hair shows. She collaborates with Maki Morita as UNIT SEEK.

She danced in Hiroto’s show organized by Hiroto Natori, taking on the leading role in the vol. 10 production “Amaterasu’s Divine Dance” in New York.

In 2022, she appeared as Megera in the Japan Ballet Association’s “La Esmeralda.” She has served as a judge for competitions including The World Ballet Trial, Flap Ballet Competition, and YBC Ballet Competition.

She became the artistic director of Ayu DANCE DESIGN in 2024.
